About CIM Canterbury Institute of Management, New Zealand is an NZQA-registered private training establishment based in the heart of Auckland Central. CIM is preparing to launch the New Zealand Diploma in Health and Wellbeing (Practice/Applied Practice) (Level 5), with a focus on aged care and disability support, subject to NZQA programme approval and accreditation. The programme will prepare graduates to contribute to one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s most important and growing sectors. About the role You will deliver practical, engaging and learner-centred education to adult learners from diverse backgrounds. Teaching seminars, tutorials and workshops across health and wellbeing courses Delivering content relating to aged care, disability support, cultural safety, communication, professional practice and reflective practice Preparing learning activities and teaching materials that meet programme outcomes Marking assessments and providing clear, constructive and timely feedback Participating in assessment moderation and other quality-assurance activities Supporting learners to prepare for their applied-practice placements Identifying learners who may require additional assistance and working with the student-support team to provide early intervention Maintaining accurate Moodle content, attendance information, assessment records and learner documentation Contributing to programme meetings, reviews and continuous-improvement activities Supporting a culturally safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment About you You will bring: A relevant qualification in health and wellbeing, nursing, aged care, disability support, social work, counselling, public health, community services, education or a related discipline At least one year of experience in tertiary teaching, workplace training, health education, aged care, disability support or community services A New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching (Level 5), or an equivalent adult-teaching qualification, which is strongly preferred Experience teaching international learners or adult learners from diverse backgrounds, which would be an advantage Strong communication and interpersonal skills Empathy, cultural responsiveness and sound professional judgement The ability to provide clear, supportive and constructive learner feedback A demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally safe practice Confidence using learning-management systems and maintaining accurate academic records What we offer Potentially flexible full-time, part-time or sessional arrangements, depending on programme delivery requirements A central Auckland campus close to public transport Small classes and support from the Programme Leader and wider academic team Funded professional development opportunities The opportunity to join a new programme at launch and grow with it A collaborative environment focused on learner success and continuous improvement Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
