Project Engineer

Allerton Recruitment – Queenstown, South Island We’re looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our client team in Queenstown and help deliver high-quality commercial construction projects across the region. The role You’ll support the successful delivery of commercial construction projects from planning through to completion. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with site teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients to keep programmes moving and standards high. Key responsibilities Assist with project planning, programming, and coordination. Support cost control, reporting, and tracking of project progress. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site documentation. Maintain quality, safety, and compliance across all project stages. Help resolve technical issues and keep work progressing on schedule. Contribute to clear communication between the site team and stakeholders. Contribute to clear communication between the site team and stakeholders. What we’re after A degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, construction, or related field. Previous experience as a Project Engineer on commercial construction projects. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills. Good communication skills and a collaborative approach. Ability to work well under pressure and manage priorities. A solid understanding of construction processes, QA, and health and safety.
