Job Description
As a Machine Operator, you will play a hands‑on role in safely and efficiently operating manufacturing equipment while producing quality products our customers know and trust. What you will do Safely operate, monitor and adjust manufacturing equipment Perform equipment set-up, changeovers and basic troubleshooting Complete quality checks and production records Maintain high standards of housekeeping and equipment cleanliness Support continuous improvement, safety and quality initiatives What we are looking for Experience working in a food manufacturing environment Physically fit and comfortable working on your feet for extended periods, including lifting up to 20kg Strong commitment to workplace health, safety and quality Good communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills Reliable, motivated and eager to learn and develop new skills Roster Structure Our production team operates on a four-day, 10-hour shift pattern, Monday to Thursday, with either Day Shift hours of 5:30am to 4:00pm or Night Shift hours of 3:50pm to 2:20am. Applicants must be flexible and willing to work additional hours when required to support production start-ups, operational requirements, and customer demand. LEAD OPERATOR As a Lead Operator, you will be pivotal in leading and optimising a production line, ensuring efficient and safe operations. You will take the lead in problem solving, improving line efficiency, ensuring the completion of tasks, and support product development. This is a day shift role, working Monday – Thursday, 5.30am – 4.00pm. What you will need to do Lead and support the production team to achieve safe, efficient, and high-quality daily operations. Where required, operate and maintain production equipment to ensure optimal performance. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to maximise productivity and minimise waste. Train, coach, and support team members to build capability and promote a positive team culture. Complete all production records, standard work, and documentation accurately. Maintain compliance with food safety, quality, and health & safety requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders to support operational excellence and continuous improvement. What we are looking for Previous experience in food manufacturing or a fast-paced, process-driven manufacturing environment. Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate and build effective working relationships. Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a dynamic production environment. An elevated level of physical fitness, with the ability to work on your feet for extended periods. A strong commitment to workplace Health & Safety, food safety, and quality standards. Proven ability to work collaboratively while supporting the development and capability of others. Exceptional attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset. Strong computer literacy and confidence using technology, with a willingness to learn and adapt. Forklift experience or a current forklift licence would be advantageous. Why Join Yellow Bites?
