Beyond Recruitment – Wellington, North Island ASAP Start Values based not-for-profit organisation We are seeking an experienced and pragmatic HR professional to join a not-for-profit organisation undergoing significant organisational change. This is a three-month fixed-term opportunity for someone who can step into a fast-paced environment, provide stability, and focus on getting things done. This role is ideal for a seasoned HR practitioner who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, providing practical advice, and supporting the delivery of a large-scale restructure programme. You will work closely with leadership and a small HR team, helping to ensure critical people processes continue smoothly during a period of transition. About the Role Reporting to senior leadership, you will provide hands‑on HR support across a broad range of activities, including employment relations, organisational change, recruitment support and HR administration oversight. You will be responsible for: Managing employee and employment relations matters Providing practical HR advice and identifying potential people risks Preparing letters of offer, variations and employment-related documentation Supporting the delivery of a restructuring programme Reviewing and quality assuring work completed by HR Coordinators Responding to general HR queries from managers and employees Maintaining accurate HR records, structures and documentation Liaising with Payroll regarding employee changes Preparing mail merges and managing the electronic filing of documents Supporting HR projects and improvement initiatives as required About You We are looking for a calm, credible and highly organised HR professional who can quickly build trust and provide practical support. You do not need to be a transformational HR leader or someone looking to reinvent processes. Instead, you will be a steady, experienced operator who can assess situations, prioritise effectively, and know when to seek specialist advice. You will bring: Proven experience in a Senior HR Advisor, HR Business Partner or similar role Sound knowledge of New Zealand employment relations and HR practices Experience managing employment relations matters and organisational change processes Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to “read the room” Confidence providing guidance while knowing when to elevate ER matters Experience coaching or overseeing junior team members Advanced Microsoft Word skills, particularly mail merges and document preparation Intermediate or higher Microsoft Excel skills Experience using SharePoint, including managing access and permissions Experience preparing employment documentation including letters of offer and contract variations Why Apply?
