To achieve this, we are looking for a strategic and collaborative Asset Manager to oversee the long-term planning, investment, and lifecycle management of our terminal and landside asset portfolio. The Position This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced asset management professional to shape the future of Queenstown Airport's Assets. Reporting directly to the Head of Assets & AES, you will lead the strategic direction for all non-airside assets—including the terminal, landside and, commercial precincts. You will be responsible for delivering QAC’s Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP), serving as the organization’s subject matter expert for lifecycle management. Working closely with our Facilities Manager, you will ensure new and renewed assets are specified, accepted into service, and handed over in a way that maximizes whole-of-life value. Key Responsibilities Strategic Asset Management: Maintain and update the SAMP and asset class strategies for all terminal, landside, and commercial precinct assets. Capital Planning & Construction Asset Integration: Act as the go-to asset representative for new construction and redevelopment projects, providing early input into business cases, design reviews, and procurement to safeguard maintainability and whole-of-life performance. Lifecycle Design Input: Embed long-term asset standards, intervention rules, and lifecycle cost modelling into the early stages of capital planning and design reviews. Operational Handover: Lead the asset acceptance framework, ensuring seamless data integration, warranties, manuals, and compliance systems are in place before practical completion. Risk & Governance: Identify portfolio risks (resilience, compliance, single-point-of-failure) and prepare executive and board-level reporting on investment priorities. Financial Planning: Lead long-term renewal pipelines, capital prioritization, and provide inputs into annual Opex and Capex planning. Stakeholder Leadership: Build effective relationships across operations, property, procurement, finance, projects, tenants, utilities providers and external advisors to align priorities and support informed decision making. Your Skills and Experience Extensive experience in strategic asset management across complex infrastructure environments, including developing and implementing SAMPs. Proven track record embedding operational readiness and asset data capture requirements into new construction and major upgrade projects. Strong background in asset criticality assessments, risk-based decision-making, and long-term capital prioritization. Exceptional relationship management skills with a proven ability to align priorities and influence outcomes across operations, finance, project teams, and tenants without direct line authority. Highly proficient in Opex/Capex planning, investment analysis, and whole-of-life cost optimization. High level of personal accountability with a commitment to maintaining technical professional knowledge. Why work for us?
