Academic English tutor (registered secondary English / ESOL teachers) Professional Studies Institute of New Zealand Limited - Newmarket, North Island Our tutoring company is looking for qualified and experienced secondary English/ESOL teachers to teach one-to-one and small-group tutorials on Saturdays in Newmarket, Auckland. Our students are international students studying in Auckland high schools. Lessons dates follow the New Zealand school terms. Role: You will be teachingone-to-one or small-group tutorials focusing on Academic English and NCEA L1 English standards. Lesson times: Saturdays during school terms (morning or afternoon classes available) Qualifications: Bachelor's/Master's Degree Relevant teaching qualification NZ Teacher Registration CELTA/TESOL certificate is an advantage but not required Experience: Experience teaching English / ESOL in a New Zealand high school Responsibilities & Skills: Lesson planning around academic English skills development and relevant L1 English standards Supporting students in developing the skills required to succeed in their exams and assessments Identifying common errors and providing targeted guidance to improve performance Assessing progress & providing feedback; completing a Progress Report at the end of each term Individualized Instruction where needed Creating a welcoming & supportive learning environment Cultural Sensitivity Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Patience & empathy Flexibility and adaptability Reliability Remuneration: $70 to $80 per hour (based on experience) #J-18808-Ljbffr
