Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher The arts An exciting and rare opportunity exists for a qualified and passionate part-time music teacher to join the outstanding music department at King’s School. The successful applicant will be involved in every aspect of our music programme. Key responsibilities will include, teaching curriculum music (band programme experience an advantage), leading choirs and massed singing sessions, as well as assisting and leading large ensembles in rehearsals and performances. About you You will be a fully registered teacher with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand and have a relevant tertiary music qualification or equivalent. Versatile educator: Passion for teaching music from new entrants to Year 8. Instrumental expertise: Proficiency in a symphonic band wind instrument. Ensemble leadership: Confident and skilled conductor. Vocal ability: Strong and capable singer. Keyboard proficiency: Intermediate piano skills highly valued. Key attributes Dedicated pedagogue: Deeply passionate about music education. Active musician: Engaged in personal musical development outside of work. Collaborative colleague: Thrives within a team of like-minded professionals. Articulate communicator: Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Structured professional: Exceptionally organised with strong time management. About us King’s School is an independent boys preparatory school in Auckland with a highly regarded music programme.
