About the Role We have excitingopportunity for an experienced Neonatal Registered Nurse to join the team as aNeonatal Nurse Educator providing neonatal nursing education programmes andinitiatives from novice through to expert. These programmes and initiativesshould reflect the current philosophy of the neonatal service and the articlesof Te Tiriti O Waitangi. You will beresponsible for facilitating ongoing education, acting as a resource person,and providing professional and educational support alongside the Neonatal CNS. We are open to this role being 0.8 - 1.0FTE (32 hours - 40 hours per week). Please indicate in your cover letter what FTE you are seeking. About the Service The NeonatalService at Christchurch Women's Hospital is a busy acute service providingsecondary/tertiary care to new-born babies born prematurely or with surgical,congenital and medical complications following birth. We are currently resourced as a44 bedded unit compromised of 12 intensive care and 32 special care cot's withour catchment area covering approximately 20,000 square kilometres of the SouthIsland. About You If you haveexceptional Neonatal experience and knowledge which you enjoy sharing withothers and appreciate working as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary service,then we want to hear from you. Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a currentAnnual Practising Certificate (APC) Minimum of 5 years validated and extensive clinical expertise inneonatal nursing. Hold a relevant post graduate qualification in neonatal nursing. Hold or working towards a qualification in adult or clinicalteaching. Demonstrated teaching/ mentoring/ coaching skills. Proven ability to support nursing staff at all levels of practice. Acknowledged leader within the neonatal speciality. Provides advanced leadership within nursing. Demonstrated ability to contribute to the professional developmentof nursing throughout the organisation. Demonstrated ability to develop appropriate nursing standards andquality initiatives. Can work autonomously and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability toengage well with staff and families. A passion to engage with and provide holistic care for infants andtheir families. Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a dynamicmultidisciplinary team. Ability to work under pressure.
