Due to a strong pipeline of upcoming projects, we are looking for a reliable, multi-skilled Technician to join us. We look to provide effective solutions for building and roofing maintenance. Safety and integrity on the job site are our key priorities. The role This is a highly varied role. You will not just be doing one repetitive task. You will undertake both routine preventative maintenance and urgent repair work across roofs and external building structures. Your day-to-day duties will include: Inspecting roofs and identifying leaks, structural wear, or damage. Repairing and maintaining various roofing profiles. Cleaning, repairing, and replacing guttering, downpipes, and spouting. Performing general exterior building maintenance (flashings, basic timber repairs, cladding touch-ups). Adhering strictly to Health and Safety protocols, including working at heights guidelines. You will report to the Director/Operations Manager who is dedicated to making sure you are fully supported, well prepared and have a full understanding of the task at hand. There are also opportunities to develop and grow into further roles, if desired. Ongoing training will be provided for the right candidate, including but not limited to: Working at heights. First aid. EWP. Health and safety. All tools, uniform and equipment will be provided. What we are looking for We are seeking candidates who have at least 3 years building or roofing experience, are motivated, and are a hands-on tradesperson that is confident running jobs. You must be willing to work throughout the Wellington region. To apply you must have the legal right to work in New Zealand, hold a New Zealand driver’s licence, and have references to back up your experience and skillset Our preferred candidate will: Have at least 3 years of hands-on experience in roofing, building, or a relevant trade. Have general maintenance skills and be capable of completing a diverse range of building and roofing upkeep tasks. Have the willingness and ability to perform a variety of tasks associated with the day-to-day repairs and maintenance needed. Have strong problem-solving abilities to trace leaks and faults. Hold a current Work at Heights certificate is highly preferred (or willingness to get one). Hold a clean, valid New Zealand Class 1 driver’s licence is essential. Be reliable, physically fit, comfortable working at heights, polite when dealing with clients, easy going and like to face new challenges. Take pride in delivering to high standards. Have a good knowledge of safe work practices. Be friendly and approachable. Be willing to learn new skillsets and teach others. Have a valid NZ Work Visa or Citizenship. Expected work hours This is a permanent position with a guaranteed minimum of 35 hours per week. On average we work 40 hours per week, with the option of weekend work if desired.
