Robbies Riccarton Sports Bar – Rolleston, South Island Robbie's Rolleston Sports Bar & Restaurant is seeking a talented Chef/Grill Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team on a full-time basis in Rolleston, Canterbury. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills in a fast-paced hospitality environment where you'll be responsible for preparing high-quality meals that keep our customers coming back. As a key member of our kitchen brigade, you'll play a vital role in maintaining our reputation for excellent food and service standards. Key responsibilities Prepare and cook meals to the highest standard, with a focus on grill and hot plate preparation Maintain cleanliness and organisation of your cooking station and equipment Follow recipes and plating guidelines consistently to ensure quality and presentation standards are met Manage food preparation efficiently to meet service times and customer demand Adhere strictly to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations Monitor stock levels and communicate with management regarding ingredient requirements Maintain a positive attitude and support team members during busy service periods Contribute to menu development and suggest improvements to existing dishes What we’re looking for Proven experience working as a Chef or Grill Cook in a busy commercial kitchen environment Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices with relevant certifications Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining food quality standards Excellent knife skills and proficiency in grill, hot plate and cooking techniques Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to take direction A passion for food preparation and commitment to continuous improvement Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays Attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Previous experience in a sports bar or casual dining environment would be advantageous What we offer Joining Robbie's Rolleston Sports Bar & Restaurant means becoming part of a vibrant hospitality team where your contributions are valued.
