As a Field Service Engineer , you will work autonomously and serve as the primary point of contact for our customers, acting as a trusted representative of the Atlas Copco brand. Upper North Island Service Team The role involves regular travel to customer sites, along with occasional workshop-based work. As such, travel throughout and, at times, outside your designated region will be required. We're looking for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, excellent customer relationship skills, and a genuine sense of ownership and accountability. Most importantly, you will be committed to delivering exceptional service and building lasting relationships with your customers. You will work closely with our Aftermarket and Equipment Sales Engineers and receive ongoing support from the Regional Service Manager and Service Planner. Job tasks and responsibilities Perform routine servicing, maintenance, breakdown response, and fault-finding activities. Conduct major overhauls and repairs on customers' compressed air equipment. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Atlas Copco's health and safety policies and procedures. Service and maintain equipment safely, efficiently, and within agreed timeframes to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Complete service reports and documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional and reliable service delivery. Key terms and conditions This is a permanent 40 hours per week full-time position. The annual base salary range is between $75,000 and $85,000 which is dependent on the candidates’ qualifications and experience. Skills and Experience To be successful in this role, you will ideally have: A minimum Level 4 Trade Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred). At least 3 years' mechanical experience or 2 years' diagnostic experience . Previous experience in a field service environment. Strong mechanical and fault-finding capabilities. Air compressor maintenance experience (highly desirable). The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a geographically dispersed team. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Good computer literacy, including the ability to complete service and time reporting. A current, clean driver's licence.
