Job Description
Convergence Partners – Auckland, North Island The Organisation Foundation North is New Zealand's largest community trust, holding a significant endowment portfolio for the communities of Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) and Te Tai Tokerau (Northland). The endowment enables the granting of millions of dollars each year to not-for-profit groups across the region. The Foundation's purpose is to enhance lives through responsible guardianship of its investments and focused funding, with a genuine, lived commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi running through how it operates. This isn't a corporate finance team bolted onto a mission statement; the investment portfolio exists specifically to fund long‑term community impact, and finance sits close to that purpose. The Role Reporting to the Head of Investments & Finance, this is an end‑to‑end senior accountant role with genuine ownership over financial reporting, management accounting and business partnering, alongside direct exposure to investment operations. The role will deliberately continue to evolve with the Foundation's growth, in line with strategy and as the right person grows into it. Key responsibilities: Own monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, including Board reporting Lead statutory reporting, audit and compliance processes Own budgeting, forecasting and long‑term planning, not just contribute inputs Deliver analysis, modelling and performance insight that informs decisions Support investment operations: cashflow, valuations, analysis and reporting Drive improvements to systems, processes, automation tools and internal controls Partner directly with stakeholders across the organisation and Investment team The Person You’ve trained through audit and moved into a commercial or complex environment, and you’re someone who takes ownership rather than waiting to be handed scope. You bring genuine curiosity about investments and funds management, comfort adopting new systems and automation tools, and a values‑led approach to how you work. You’ll have: CA qualification with 4+ years’ experience, including audit, and at least 2 years owning management accounting end‑to‑end in a commercial environment Demonstrated initiative: someone who has grown a role rather than just filled one Genuine interest in or exposure to investments, funds management, or similar Strong financial reporting and stakeholder partnering skills A continuous improvement mindset and comfort with ambiguity in a lean team The Opportunity A rare end‑to‑end ownership role inside a purpose‑led organisation managing significant long‑term capital Scope that grows with you: this is not a static job description Direct exposure to investment operations alongside core finance Supportive, flexible working environment with long‑term career runway We are only considering applicants who have the right to work and live in New Zealand indefinitely. #J-18808-Ljbffr
