We are looking for a full time Fitter & Turner to join our growing team and help us deliver life changing products into the medical sector. About the role Working within our assembly team, you'll be involved in the welding, assembly and finishing of world-class orthopaedic medical devices. No two days are the same, and you'll work alongside talented engineers and tradespeople to deliver innovative solutions that support our growing manufacturing operations. Both afternoon and late shift roles are available. Working hours will be at least 40 per week. Afternoon shift roles are Monday to Thursday, 12 – 10:30 pm, and late shift roles are Monday to Thursday, 3.15 pm – 1.45 am. Your responsibilities will include: Fit and assemble precision parts and assemblies Carry out light fabrication and welding Operate manual lathes, milling machines and other workshop equipment Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards Maintain workshop tools, equipment and a clean, organised work environment. Work safely and contribute to our strong health and safety culture Collaborate with engineers, machinists and other team members to deliver projects on time Record work completed and materials used About you You’ll be a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner who enjoys hands‑on engineering and takes pride in producing high-quality work. You’ll bring: Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner At least five years' industry experience Strong experience operating manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses and general workshop machinery Proven fitting and machining experience TIG welding experience Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent problem‑solving skills High attention to detail and pride in your workmanship A positive, team‑focused attitude The ability to work independently and meet project deadlines A strong commitment to health and safety We offer an hourly rate between $30 and $40 depending on experience, plus a 15% shift allowance.
