TeTūranga| The Role We are looking for two Advisers to join our Insurance team , whereyou'llplayan important rolein the supervision ofAotearoa’sinsurance sector. Working within ahighly collaborative,outcomesfocused team,you'llcontributetofairconsumeroutcomesandsupport astronger,more trusted financial sectorthroughsupervision of insurers. A day in the life will see you building relationships with supervised insurers, contributing tomonitoringactivities, and providing insights that support effective regulatory decision-making.You'llwork closely with colleagues across the FMA and gain exposure to a wide range of insurance providers, business models, and emerging industry issues. Key responsibilities includebut are not limited to: Supportingthesupervisionofinsurers andparticipatingin meetings with senior stakeholders. Contributing to onsite monitoring and desk-based reviews to assess conduct, compliance, andconsumeroutcomes. Preparing briefings and insights to support regulatory discussions and decision-making. Identifyingand analysing emerging risks, trends, and areas of potential consumer harm. Supporting thematic reviews and projects aligned to the FMA's regulatory priorities. Building strong relationships across the FMA and with external stakeholders to support regulatory outcomes. Through this role,you’llgaina broad understanding of the insurance industry, contribute to meaningful work thatimpactsNew Zealand consumers, and learn from experienced regulatory professionals in a highly collaborative team environment. You may already have experience in the insurance sector, financial services, or a regulatory environment, and be looking for an opportunity to apply yourexpertisein a role with broad industry exposure and real impact for consumers. You'llbringstrong communicationand stakeholder engagement skills, coupled with the ability to analyse information, exercise sound judgement, and work through complex issues.You'recomfortable asking questions, embracing new perspectives, and partnering with others to achieve meaningful results.
