Job description Bring our Housing Delivery Group's performance story to life through data visualisation and strategic insight Translate complex performance data into actionable intelligence for leadership decision-making Open to Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch as work location Fixed term/secondment until 30 June 2028 Te whiwhinga mahi - Our opportunity As our Senior Reporting Advisor , you’ll lead the delivery of high-quality reporting, analysis and strategic insights that support effective decision-making across Kāinga Ora’s Housing Delivery Group. You’ll partner with delivery, divestment, retrofit, technology and transformation teams to design and continuously improve reporting solutions, processes and data flows. Working across a diverse range of operational and enterprise systems, you’ll apply consistent reporting methodologies, connect information from multiple sources and maximise existing system capability. Using Power BI, SQL, advanced Excel and other reporting tools, you’ll analyse complex information and translate it into clear written insights, compelling data visualisations and practical recommendations. Your work will help leaders understand performance, identify trends and risks, optimise costs and make confident strategic and operational decisions. You’ll produce dashboards, Board and executive reporting, slide packs and written performance narratives. You’ll also manage and respond to information requests, including Official Information Act requests, Parliamentary Questions and media or ministerial enquiries. This is a hands‑on role requiring initiative, sound judgement and personal ownership. You’ll be comfortable identifying what is needed, progressing work independently and bringing the right people together without waiting for detailed direction. Your insights and focus on continuous improvement will help strengthen reporting capability, data quality and evidence-based decision-making across Housing Delivery. Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu - What you will bring You’ll bring strong analytical, communication and relationship skills, with a focus on practical improvements. You will demonstrate: Proven experience analysing complex data and translating it into clear written insights, compelling visualisations and practical recommendations. Advanced Excel and Power BI capability, with experience using SQL and large financial, operational or enterprise systems. Strong communication skills, including producing Board papers, executive reporting and data narratives for varied audiences. A continuous‑improvement mindset, with experience enhancing reporting solutions, data flows, processes, automation and system capability. Strong stakeholder, planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines. A proactive, solution‑focused approach, with the initiative to navigate ambiguity and progress complex work independently. Experience with Kāinga Ora Housing Delivery operations or systems, including acquisitions, divestments, retrofit, EAM, ARA, IDP or Oracle Projects would be a distinct advantage.
