Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity Our Commercial & Business Performance team is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to join us. Reporting to the Project Accountant Team Lead based in Auckland, you’ll act as a key interface between Finance and our Project teams, building strong, trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, and external partners. In this role you will shape the financial performance of some of most significant projects, work alongside industry leading professionals and contribute to projects that make every day better for our communities. Carrying out this position, you’ll provide comprehensive financial insight into project delivery and performance across the full project lifecycle. Your portfolio will include a range of projects selected based on value, client partnerships, and business unit priorities. With a strong focus on project controls, working capital management, revenue recognition, project reporting, and audit processes, you’ll play a critical role in challenging assumptions, identifying risks and opportunities, and delivering commercially sound insights. You’ll champion best practice and help embed a high standard of financial discipline and performance across our projects. Ko wai koe | About you You’ll bring around 3–5 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a project accounting environment. You have a solid understanding of project structures, financial controls, reporting, and revenue recognition, and can contribute ideas to continuously improve how these are applied in practice. You’re someone who enjoys partnering with the business and are keen to develop your career further in a commercial business partnering direction. You’re confident asking questions, constructively challenging thinking, and bringing a broader, strategic perspective to your work. A collaborative team player, you thrive in bridging Finance and Project teams, bringing a ‘standard of excellence’ mindset to profitability, performance, and outcomes.
