Aboutthe Role Wehave an exciting opportunity to join the supportive Occupational Therapy teamat Christchurch Hospital. This permanent full-time position is based at Christchurch Health Campus and primarily works within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), providing specialist occupational therapy assessment and intervention for critically unwell patients. The ICU service is a dynamic and rewarding area of practice where Occupational Therapists play a key role in supporting early rehabilitation, functional assessment, cognitive screening, family/whānau engagement, and facilitating recovery following critical illness. You will work closely with an experienced interdisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes from the earliest stages of admission through to discharge planning and transition of care. Inthis role, you will be responsible for: Working to provide comprehensive inter-disciplinary andspecific occupational therapy based assessments, patient centred goalsetting, therapeutic interventions, and education to whānau and friendsand IDT colleagues Working with patients from diverse social and culturalbackgrounds and working collaboratively with whānau, the widermultidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes Delegation of clinical tasks to Allied HealthAssistants Identifying service needs and contributing towardsquality improvement initiatives Being involved in patient-centred discharge planning Mentoring and supervision of other colleagues withinthe wider Occupational Therapy service As part of the team you will also contribute to theweekend roster on a regular basis AboutYou You will be passionate about acute and critical care rehabilitation and enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment. You will have a genuine interest in helping patients recover from critical illness and be motivated to grow your specialist skills within ICU practice.
