About the Role A well-established independent school in Timaru is seeking a passionate Year 7-8 Teacher to join its supportive team from Term 4, 2026, or sooner by arrangement. This is a full-time, permanent position working with motivated middle-school students in a modern, values-based learning environment. You will deliver engaging face-to-face teaching while helping students develop the confidence, independence and learning habits they need as they move towards secondary education. As students begin working with specialist teachers through online learning, you will play an important role in supporting their transition, building their confidence and helping them take greater ownership of their learning. You will be supported by experienced leadership, clear systems, excellent resources and a wider national teaching network. Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging and well-structured programmes for Year 7-8 students Build students' confidence, independence and responsibility for learning Encourage inquiry, creativity, collaboration and real-world problem-solving Support students as they transition into specialist secondary subjects Work closely with campus staff and teachers across the wider school network Build positive relationships with students, parents and the wider school community About You You will be a New Zealand-registered teacher with current certification and the right to work in New Zealand.
