What You'll Be Doing Lead the design, development and enhancement of enterprise Java applications Provide architectural guidance across complex systems Design solutions that balance functional and non-functional requirements Drive software engineering quality and standards Lead technical reviews, code reviews and design reviews Ensure critical applications remain reliable, secure and available Support integration and data management initiatives Work with stakeholders to deliver customer-focused enhancements Resolve complex technical and production challenges Mentor developers and contribute to capability growth across the practice What We’re Looking For Technical Skills Extensive commercial Java development experience Enterprise system design and architecture expertise Strong understanding of software design patterns Experience working with relational databases Application support and production management experience Experience delivering large-scale business-critical systems Strong Agile and DevOps mindset Experience working with source control and modern software delivery practices Leadership & Personal Attributes Technical leadership experience Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Strong mentoring and coaching ability Analytical and strategic thinking capability High attention to detail Ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs Collaborative and team-focused approach What's On Offer Permanent opportunity Wellington (Porirua) or Christchurch Salary approximately $155,000 Flexible working arrangements Enterprise-scale technology landscape Opportunity to lead critical platform development Strong focus on innovation, quality and continuous improvement Only people with the right to work in New Zealand may apply for this position.
