Mobile Service Technician – Hydraulic Hoses Hydraulic Edge Solutions Limited – Tauranga, North Island Pirtek Bay of Plenty is looking for a reliable, mechanically experienced Mobile Service Technician who enjoys autonomy, variety and solving problems in the field. You’ll manage and prioritise service calls, make practical decisions on-site and build trusted relationships with customers, with the support of our Tauranga workshop and wider Pirtek network behind you. Previous hydraulic hose experience is an advantage but not essential. We provide training in Pirtek products, hydraulic hose manufacture, fluid power systems and safe mobile service work. This is a Permanent, full-time role with a minimum 40 guaranteed hours per week. Normal hours are Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm, with some additional paid overtime and participation in the rotating on-call roster. You’ll join a small, practical team where people support each other, take responsibility and can be relied on to follow through. The Role Working across the Bay of Plenty and in our Tauranga workshop, you will: Manufacture and install hydraulic hoses Respond to breakdowns and service requests Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic faults Complete repairs and new installations Manage and prioritise your daily service calls Maintain your service vehicle, tools, stock and job records Deliver professional customer service This is a Permanent, full-time role with a minimum 40 guaranteed hours per week. Participate in an on-call roster one week in every three once trained About You You will need: At least two years’ relevant hands‑on experience in mechanical servicing, field service, machinery maintenance, hydraulics or a closely related trade Experience repairing or maintaining machinery Confidence using tools and measuring equipment accurately Strong fault‑finding and practical problem‑solving skills A full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence Good communication and customer‑service skills Proven reliability and pride in your workmanship The ability to work independently and as part of a small team Flexibility for after‑hours call‑outs The physical capability to safely perform the role A formal trade qualification is preferred but not essential.
