We're now looking for an Assistant Preconstruction Manager to join our growing Christchurch team, supporting the successful delivery of commercial fit-out and workplace projects across New Zealand. You'll coordinate tender activities, assist with cost planning, manage subcontractor pricing, review construction documentation and support the preparation of winning proposals. Working closely with design, delivery and commercial teams, you'll help ensure projects are commercially sound, technically coordinated and ready for construction. No two days are the same—and that's exactly how we like it. What You'll Be Doing Supporting live tenders and preconstruction activities Reviewing drawings and specifications for scope, risks and buildability Coordinating subcontractor and supplier pricing Assisting with cost plans, estimates and project budgets Managing RFIs, tender documentation and submissions Maintaining pricing records, assumptions and risk registers Supporting procurement planning and project programmes Preparing client presentations and handover documentation Working collaboratively with design, commercial and delivery teams Building strong relationships with subcontractors, consultants and suppliers About You You’ll likely have around 2-5 years' experience within estimating, preconstruction, project coordination, quantity surveying or commercial construction. You'll also bring: Experience within commercial construction or workplace fit-out A good understanding of tendering and subcontractor coordination Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment Confident communication and stakeholder management skills Experience using Microsoft Excel and project management software A qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is advantageous Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys working collaboratively, takes ownership of your work and wants to continue developing your career.
