Convergence Partners – Auckland, North Island Canopy Healthcare is a leading provider of integrated healthcare services across the North Island, offering diagnostic imaging, cancer treatment and care, cardiology, breast diagnostics and surgery and pharmaceutical compounding, Together, they are dedicated to delivering patient-centered care through innovation and excellence. Their network of healthcare professionals is committed to providing comprehensive, high-quality care tailored to the unique needs of every patient. In an exciting new chapter, Canopy is embarking on a group-wide digital transformation that will help shape the future growth of the organisation. About the role For architecture specifically, this is a rare chance to build up the architecture practice, with scope to be pragmatic about what stays, what’s replaced, and what’s built new. Reporting to the CIO / CISO, the System Architecture Manager leads clinical application and automation architecture across the Group, including: Developing and maintaining architecture standards and design patterns for Group level consumption Leading the design of clinical application and automation architecture solutions Partnering with the AI development group to ensure architecture alignment and effective integration Developing integration design patterns that support scalable, secure and sustainable clinical technology outcomes Leading vendor selection processes and managing key vendor relationships Shaping and developing a growing team, starting with one direct report and building to three or four over time This is a broad generalist role. You'll be hands on in the design work while the function is smaller, with the scope to grow into leading a team of architects as it matures. The successful candidate will: Be able to work across a broad and evolving technology landscape rather than staying narrowly specialised Be comfortable being hands on with design now, and equally comfortable building and leading a team as the function grows Have demonstrated experience developing architecture standards and design patterns for Group level consumption Have demonstrated leadership experience and capability Have experience contributing to enterprise or Group wide digital transformation initiatives Hold TOGAF certification or equivalent architecture certification, or equivalent experience Have the right attitude above all and calm under pressure Exposure to HL7 or FHIR clinical integration, experience owning a similar scope of work at Group level, or experience in healthcare or another similarly regulated environment are all a strong plus. None of these are deal-breakers on their own. Why join Canopy? In addition to the role itself, Canopy offers a positive, people-first culture that supports your personal and professional growth. You will get five weeks annual leave and an extra Canopy Day off, plus enhanced parental leave and sick leave from day one. As part of a healthcare group, you'll also have access to free and discounted care within their own services, alongside EAP support, wellbeing perks, and a range of retail and lifestyle discounts.
