Job Description
We are seeking a Casual Support Worker to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is flexible, reliable, and passionate about supporting people with complex needs. As a casual employee, shifts are offered on an as‑needed basis and may vary from week to week depending on operational requirements. Availability across evenings and weekends is particularly valuable. Pay rate: $23.95 – $29.10 per hour (based on experience and qualifications) In this role, you will support residents with traumatic brain injuries to build independence, participate in meaningful activities, and live fulfilling lives. You will work within a small, supportive team and make a genuine difference every day. Key Responsibilities Building positive and respectful relationships with the people we support, their families, and others involved in their lives Supporting residents to work towards their individual goals, independence, and daily routines Supporting people in the community, often on a one‑to‑one basis Assisting with personal care needs, including showering, dressing, and grooming Administering medication in accordance with training and policies Assisting with household tasks, including cleaning and meal preparation Driving mobility vans and resident vehicles (full NZ driver’s licence required) Completing clear and accurate documentation Participating in police vetting (mandatory requirement) About You Has a genuine passion for supporting people with complex needs Is caring, reliable, and trustworthy Respects individual differences and promotes dignity and choice Has at least 1 year of experience in a disability, rehabilitation, or similar support role Is adaptable and flexible with availability Can work both independently and as part of a close‑knit team Holds a full New Zealand driver’s licence with no restrictions and is confident driving mobility vans Has strong organisational skills, good time management, and attention to detail Maintains strong professional boundaries at all times What We Offer A high staff‑to‑resident ratio (generally 1 staff to 2 residents ) Competitive hourly rates based on experience and qualifications ($23.95 – $29.10 per hour) A supportive and welcoming team environment Only applicants who have the legal right to work in New Zealand will be considered.
