Mechanical Engineering Apprentice

Dynaflow ENZED - Wellington's trusted experts in hydraulic engineering - is looking for a motivated and enthusiasticMechanical Engineering Apprentice to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for the mechanical industry who wants to build a long-term career in engineering. You'll gain hands‑on experience across hydraulic maintenance, repairs, installations, machining, and general engineering work while learning alongside experienced tradespeople. The team at Dynaflow will support you throughout your apprenticeship journey, with day‑to‑day work closely aligned to your apprenticeship training and course requirements. What You’ll Be Doing Assisting with hydraulic maintenance, repairs, and installations Learning fitting, disassembly, repair, and reassembly processes Supporting machining and turning of mechanical components Assisting with welding work including MIG, TIG, and Arc Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings Helping with diagnostics, servicing, and overhauls Hose and fitting assembly in both workshop and field service environments Maintaining Dynaflow's quality and safety standards Learning from experienced engineers and fitters on the job What We’re Looking For Great attitude and willingness to learn Passion for mechanical engineering and hands‑on work Minimum NZQA Level 2 in Maths and Science Clean New Zealand driver's licence Punctual, reliable, and self‑motivated Great personality with confidence and strong communication skills Physically fit, energetic, and hardworking Some understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferred Ability to work well within a team environment A good sense of humour - we like to enjoy what we do!
