About the Role We are looking for an enthusiastic Gastroenterologist to join the team at Whangārei Hospital. A team of 4 supportive gastroenterologists are seeking an additional team member who can provide general GI, basic ERCP, and EUS skills to support the care of the growing population in New Zealand's idyllic Northland. Our current advanced therapeutic endoscopist is eager to transition the ERCP and EUS caseload over to a new, energetic colleague. Excellent departmental support is provided by Pathology, Surgery and Radiology. About the Location As well as a warm climate, the "winterless north" offers excellent schools; affordable housing and scenic coastal areas offering a range of recreational activities. We are just a two hours' drive or 25-minute flight from the international hub of Auckland. About you To be considered you must have or be eligible for specialist (or locum tenens) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) in an Internal Medicine Vocational scope of practice. Ideally you will possess FRACP or an equivalent qualification; however, we are open to hearing from advanced trainees nearing completion of their training. General GI, basic ERCP and GI luminal stent skills desired. If you are currently overseas / not yet registered, we can assist you with the application process to obtain MCNZ registration.
