PERMANENT FACILITIES ASSISTANT (x2)

Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland is one of New Zealand's most iconic geothermal attractions, welcoming visitors from around the world every day. We are looking for two enthusiastic, reliable, and energetic Facilities Assistant’s to join our team and help keep our world-renowned attraction looking its best while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for our manuhiri (visitors). About the Role No two days are the same! As a Facilities Assistant you'll play an important role in the day-to-day operation of Wai-O-Tapu, supporting the maintenance of our unique geothermal environment and visitor facilities. Maintaining gardens, lawns, walkways, buildings, and visitor facilities. Carrying out preventative maintenance and general repairs. Assisting with traffic management and visitor flow around the site. Setting up and packing down the Lady Knox Geyser presentation. Supporting guided tours and sharing information with visitors. Completing routine inspections and health and safety checks. Keeping the site clean, tidy, and well-presented, including rubbish removal. Responding to maintenance requests and identifying improvement opportunities. Providing friendly, professional customer service to visitors from around the world. About You We're looking for someone who: Enjoys working outdoors in all weather conditions. Has previous maintenance, grounds, landscaping, or facilities experience. Takes pride in keeping things clean, safe, and well maintained. Has excellent customer service and communication skills. Is physically fit and enjoys practical, hands-on work. Works well independently and as part of a team. Holds a current full New Zealand Driver Licence. Has experience using outdoor maintenance equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and chainsaws (preferred). Has practical skills in general building maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical repairs (advantageous).
