Public Spaces Animal Management Officer

Work type: Permanent / Full Time We require an experienced public spaces enthusiast to join our Public Spaces and Animal Management team. From supporting responsible dog ownership to patrolling public spaces and carparks, you’ll play a key role in keeping our town moving smoothly and supporting fair and friendly parking enforcement, monitoring freedom camping, and other public activities. Together as a team you will ensure our beaches, parks and town centre is safe and enjoyable for our community. To excel in this role you will have experience in a similar environment, ideally in the Public Space and Parking area, and hold a current and valid NZ Driver licence. You’ll also bring strong knowledge of and experience in: Knowledge of relevant legislation and bylaws and the ability to interpret legislation and apply in an everyday context Effective communication and interpersonal skills Problem solving Dynamic interpersonal skills with a demonstrated commitment to customer service Willingness to work with a wide range of people within and outside the organisation Relevant experience in dealing with conflict (compliance and enforcement experience is desirable) Practised in dispute and conflict mediation skills A full driver licence, a person with a restricted licence may be considered.
