Field Operations Manager

Operating in New Zealand and Australia, Pasture First Research is a leading Contract Research Organisation (CRO) responsible for providing our clients with reliable independent field studies to determine the agronomic performance, efficacy and safety of new and existing Crop Protection, Seed, and Fertiliser/Bio-stimulant and products. The role of the Field Operations Manager is to work closely with our Research and Development Manager to manage our team of Research Agronomists throughout New Zealand to ensure correct implementation of a range of pastoral, arable and horticultural field trials and to ensure thorough and reliable results are achieved. You will be part of a management team charged with ensuring successful trial implementation and outcomes for our company clients. Because of this you will have experience leading a team of Field Researchers and have a thorough knowledge of conducting field based agronomic Research and Development trials. Key tasks include (but not limited to): Managing the day-to-day activities of our team of Research Agronomist's throughout New Zealand. Be the first point of contact to the Research Agronomists. Help provide timely and accurate field data to the Research and Development Manager so that the trial implementation is undertaken correctly and results meet milestones. Work closely with the Managing Director and R&D Manager to ensure trial protocols are correct. Help Develop trial protocols. Some field work and report writing may be required. Previous experience in agriculture/horticulture field research roles is a must and relevant agriculture/horticulture degree would also be an advantage.
