Floor /Wall Tiler & Water-proofer Installer European Stone Masons – Wellington Central, North Island European Stone Masons Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Floor/Wall Tiler & Water-proofer Installer to join our team in Auckland CBD. This is a full-time position based in Auckland CBD that plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality tiling and waterproofing solutions to our clients. As a Floor/Wall Tiler & Water-proofer Installer, you will be responsible for the installation, finishing, and waterproofing of tile surfaces in both residential and commercial projects, ensuring exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail on every job. This role is integral to maintaining European Stone Masons Ltd's reputation for excellence in the building trades industry. Key responsibilities Prepare and level surfaces for tile installation, including concrete, timber, and plasterboard substrates Install floor and wall tiles using appropriate adhesives, grout, and installation techniques to industry standards Apply waterproofing membranes and sealants to ensure protection against moisture ingress in wet areas such as bathrooms, kitchens, and showers Measure, cut, and fit tiles accurately using hand tools and power equipment Mix and apply grout and sealants to specified standards, ensuring consistent finish quality Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and quality standards Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and other tradespeople on site Assist with project planning and material estimation as required What we're looking for Proven experience as a Floor/Wall Tiler and Water-proofer Installer with a minimum of 2-5+ years in the building trades. Current New Zealand trade qualifications or relevant certifications in tiling and waterproofing installation Demonstrated expertise in surface preparation, tile installation, grouting, and waterproofing techniques Proficiency with tiling and waterproofing tools, including levels, grinders, and power drills Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in the construction industry Attention to detail with the ability to maintain high-quality finishes on complex projects Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in confined spaces Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to site‑specific challenges Reliable, punctual, and committed to professional conduct on job sites Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to various sites across Auckland Excellent communication and teamwork abilities What we offer European Stone Masons Ltd is committed to supporting the professional development and wellbeing of our team members.
