Community Support Worker - Holiday Programme Community Support Worker - School Holiday Programme - Lower Hutt We are looking for energetic and reliable School Holiday Programme Workers to help deliver a fun,safeand engaging programme for tamariki in Lower Hutt during the September/October school holidays. Workroughly40hoursper week across the school holiday programme. Join a positive team environment where safety, fun and care come first. This is a hands-on role where you will work alongside programme staff to supervise childrenwithdiabilities, support activities and help create a welcoming environment forthechildren andtheirwhānau. You will bring energy,patienceand practical support to each day, helping children feel included,encouragedand well cared for.Reporting to the Programme Leader, you willfacilitatemeaningful activities and support children to engage in a variety of tasks. The school holiday programme runs for 2 weeks over the Term 3 school holiday period (28th September – 9th October) Key Responsibilities: Supervise and support children during programme activities,outingsand transitions. Help set up, run and pack down games, arts and crafts, sports, themedactivitiesand group challenges. Create a safe,inclusiveand respectful environment for all children. Encourage participation,teamworkand positivebehaviours. Communicate clearly with children, parents,caregiversand team members. Follow programme procedures, health and safety expectations and safeguarding requirements. Willing to support people with their personalcares, which can include bathing,dressingand toileting. What we are looking for: You will be someone who enjoys working with children and can bring a calm,positiveand practical approach to a busy programme setting. You do not need to have held this exact role before, but experience with children, youth, sports, recreation,educationor communityprogrammeswould be an advantage. Experience working with children is preferred; training may be provided for the right person. First Aid certification would be an advantage. A fulldriverlicencewould be an advantage if outings or transport are part of the programme. You must be eligible to work in New Zealand. The successful applicant maybe requiredto complete safety checks, including Policevetting, in line with child safety requirements. You will be: Available for the entirety of the school holiday period. Reliable,punctualand wellorganised. Committed and passionate for supporting people with disabilities to live great lives. Friendly,energeticand patient. Confident communicating with children and adults. Able to use initiative and stay calm in a busy environment.
