Class 4 & 5 Civil Truck Drivers | CHCH & QT

About The Role If you're happiest behind the wheel but don't mind jumping out to lend a hand, this could be the perfect role for you. We're looking for experienced Class 4 and Class 5 Truck Drivers to join busy civil construction teams working across Christchurch and Queenstown. This isn't just point A to point B driving- it's a varied, hands-on role where you'll transport materials, support civil crews, and play an important part in delivering everything from subdivisions to major infrastructure projects. You’ll spend your days operating truck and trailer units, moving materials safely and efficiently between sites, and getting involved with the crew whenever an extra pair of hands is needed. Every project is different, so if you enjoy variety, teamwork, and seeing the results of your work at the end of the day, you’ll feel right at home. Whether you’re navigating a construction site, operating small plant, or helping keep the project moving, you’ll be part of a crew that values reliability, safety, and people who are willing to pitch in. What's In It For You Competitive hourly rates paid weekly Ongoing full-time work with established civil contractors Variety of projects across Christchurch or Queenstown A role that combines driving with hands-on site work Supportive crews and modern equipment What You Will Be Doing Drive truck and trailer units safely and efficiently Load, cart, and spread materials across sites Operate small plant and machinery (rollers, loaders, compactors, excavators) Assist civil crews with general site work when needed Maintain vehicles, tools, and work areas in line with instructions Follow all site safety procedures What We Require Full clean Class 4 or Class 5 NZ driver licence Current logbook competency Minimum 3+ years heavy vehicle driving experience Experience with truck/trailer loading, carting, and spreading Civil construction experience preferred Willingness to assist with labouring duties Strong health and safety focus Reliable, hardworking, and a team player Valid Site Safe or Construct Safe - we can assist with this Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test ALL APPLICANTS MUST HAVE THE LEGAL RIGHT TO WORK IN NEW ZEALAND Why Choose Max People?
