Ryan Recruitment – Christchurch, South Island Lead a High-Performing Manufacturing Operation Drive Safety, Productivity and Continuous Improvement Key Leadership Role with Strong Autonomy and Impact About the Role: This is an opportunity to take ownership of a well-established manufacturing and distribution operation, leading all aspects of safety, production, engineering, quality, logistics, customer service and financial performance. Reporting to the Group Operations Manager, you’ll be a visible and hands-on leader, working closely with your team on the manufacturing floor to drive operational excellence, develop people and deliver strong business outcomes. Key Responsibilities include: Lead manufacturing operations to achieve production, quality and efficiency targets Drive a proactive health, safety and wellbeing culture across the site Manage engineering and maintenance activities to maximise plant reliability and uptime Develop, coach and mentor leaders and employees across the branch Monitor financial performance, budgets and operational costs Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and key stakeholders Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity and performance Skills and Experience: You will: Have proven leadership experience within a manufacturing, industrial or production environment Have successfully led large operational teams and developed high-performing workplace cultures Have strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, costs and business performance Demonstrate experience across production, maintenance, quality and logistics functions Have a sound understanding of New Zealand Health and Safety legislation and best practice Demonstrate a hands-on leadership style, strong problem-solving ability and excellent communication skills Competitive salary package Company vehicle Senior leadership role with significant influence and autonomy Opportunity to lead a well-established operation and drive meaningful change Supportive leadership team committed to continuous improvement and innovation Long-term career development and progression opportunities About the Company and Culture: Our client is a successful New Zealand manufacturing business with a strong reputation for quality, innovation and customer service.
