Civil Project Manager

About the Role As Project Manager, you'll take ownership of project delivery from start to finish, on time, in specification, and within agreed costs. This is a role for someone with intermediate to senior experience, ready to manage projects with a good degree of autonomy, leading Engineers, Site Managers, and Field Staff, and acting as the key point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle. Key responsibilities include: Reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, schedules and design or methodology changes Developing and managing construction programmes, including resourcing and scheduling Leadership & day to day management reporting of on-site project staff & subcontractors Managing cost control and the claims process with support from a Quantity Surveyor Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships, including reporting and negotiations Ensuring compliance with all industry regulations, quality standards, and environmental requirements Supporting the New Business Team in tendering functions such as price reviews, method and programme drafting What You'll Bring Minimum 5 years’ project management experience in civil infrastructure Competent in Microsoft Project, able to develop, manage, and communicate detailed construction programmes, identify critical paths, and proactively manage programme risks and recovery plans. Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cost control, monthly claims, variations, and subcontractor management, with a track record of delivering within budget and margin. Excellent stakeholder management skills, building strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams. Sound, timely decisions under pressure, assessing risk and implementing practical solutions to keep projects on programme and on budget. A proven leader who coaches and develops Project Engineers and Site Managers, delegates effectively, and builds a positive, safety- and quality-focused team culture.
