Help Desk Engineer (Level 2), Permanent position. Auckland based with ongoing development and varied technical work. Regular travel in the upper North Island and occasionally to Christchurch. Support a national IT environment by resolving Level 2 issues, improving systems, and working with a collaborative technology team. What you will do: You will provide Level 2 support by resolving technical issues that have been escalated from the Level 1 team. Day to day, you will troubleshoot hardware, software, Microsoft 365, network, and mobile device issues while maintaining high service standards. You will assist with workstation and device deployments, system maintenance, software updates, and user administration across Microsoft environments. You will document incidents, identify recurring problems, contribute to long-term solutions, and support infrastructure improvement projects. The role also includes occasional site visits, user training, participation in an on-call roster, and close collaboration with wider IT teams. Skills and experience we are looking for: At least 3 years' experience in IT support, including Level 1 or Level 2 support. Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networking. Experience with Microsoft 365, Exchange, Azure, Active Directory, Group Policy, and SharePoint. Good knowledge of Android device support. Understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and related technologies. Strong customer service and communication skills. A practical and methodical approach to problem solving. Ability to travel regularly throughout the Upper North Island with occasional travel to Christchurch. Willingness to participate in a rostered on-call schedule.
