Ag/Farm Lead

Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher Science St Peter’s Cambridge is seeking an inspiring educational leader to shape the future of agricultural education, horticulture and student experiences. As the Leader of Agriculture and Farming Student Experiences, you will establish and maintain an enriching, sustainable seven year student journey across the curriculum, seamlessly connecting classroom learning with co-curricular activities. You’ll work to strengthen the partnership between St Peter’s, Owl Farm, industry leaders and our farming community, creating innovative learning opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom. Teaching component will be discussed at interview. Key responsibilities: Lead and develop an innovative, future focused agricultural education programme aligned with farm experiences. Create engaging and outstanding curricular and co-curricular learning experiences. Strengthen partnerships with local, national and international industry organisations. Develop student pathways, including NZQA Scholarship Agriculture and other recognised qualifications. Ensure the agriculture and farming curriculum has opportunity for wider curriculum experiences across faculties. Foster work placements, internships and mentoring opportunities. Lead and support Agriculture and Horticulture teaching staff. Promote the unique opportunities offered through Owl Farm and the wider St Peter’s community. Champion student participation in competitions, innovation programmes and leadership opportunities. Champion the co-curricular life of Agricultural and Farming at St Peter’s. Work closely with the Comms and Marketing team to promote student experiences. You will bring: Significant experience within the farming, agriculture, food or fibre sectors. Practical farming experience. Proven educational and leadership capability. A passion for inspiring young people and developing authentic learning experiences. Outstanding relationship building, communication skills, sound judgement and a positive mindset. The ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders including industry, parents, alumni and colleagues. Experience in horticulture would be an advantage. A full current NZ teacher registration.
