Our Waihi Operation in the North Island of New Zealand is an underground gold mine.Arecent consent for the Waihi North Project, anew mine to be developed 6 km north of the existing operation has provided along-term extension of mine life providing our 400 staff and contractors,and the people of Waihi, an assurance that we plan to be here for thelong-term. Job Description This is an exciting opportunity to join the Senior Management Team at our Waihi operation, as we continue to increase production at the existing site and develop anew mine inWharekirauponga, as part of the Waihi NorthProject. Location, location, location! You will be hard pressed to find amine site in amore stunning location than Waihi, the gateway to the stunning Coromandel regiion. With asunny climate, the beach just a 7 -minute drive away and great outdoors activities and schools nearby, it is agreat place to bring up family. Auckland is just a 2 hour drive away, with Hamilton and Tauranga readilyaccessible. The key to the Superintendent-Management Accounting role, is to be atrusted and valued business partner, accountable for providing proactive financial leadership, analysis and commercial insight to the Waihi operation, ensuring operational leaders are supported with accurate financial information and robust decision-making tools to optimise production, manage costs, maximise cash flow and deliver sustainable value. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Champion astrong safety culture for all miningactivities.. Lead, develop and mentor members of the financeteam. Foster aculture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and high performance. Support capability development across operational leadership teams through financial education andcoaching. Participate as akey member of the Waihi leadership team, providing financial leadership and strategicinsight. Act as the primary finance business partner to operational departments including Mining, Processing, Technical Services, Maintenance, Supply Chain and Site Administration. Provide financial insight and challenge to support achievement of operational and financialobjectives. Support leaders in understanding the financial implications of operational decisions and initiatives. Lead the preparation of monthly management reporting and performance reviews for the site leadership team and regionalleadership. Analyse operational and financial performance against budget, forecast and priorperiods. Identify key cost drivers, performance trends, risks and opportunities. Prepare clear and concise financial commentary explaining variances and operational impacts. Develop and maintain site performance dashboards and KPIs to support business decision-making. Lead the preparation, coordination and consolidation of annual budgets, life-of-mine plans, rolling forecasts and strategic planning activities for the Waihioperation.. Provide financial modelling, scenario analysis and sensitivity assessments to support operational and strategicdecisions. Drive cost management disciplines across the operation and promote cost-conscious decision-making. Partner with operational teams to develop business cases for capital projects and major expenditures. Evaluate investment proposals through financial modelling, NPV, IRR and paybackanalysis. Conduct detailed analysis of mining, processing and maintenance performance to understand financialimpacts. Analyse unit costs and operational KPIs including mining costs, processing costs, sustaining capital, inventory, AISC and cash flowdrivers. Support internal and external audit activities and implement agreedactions. Drive improvements in financial processes, systems, reporting and forecasting methodologies. Qualifications BCom in Finance, Accountancy or Business Management orequivalent. Professional Accountancy association membership. Minimum 10 years financial and commercial experience within alisted company environment Previous experience in managing teams and relationships at asenior level. Previous experience in an extractive industry would be highlyregarded.
