Habitat for Humanity Central North Island – East Tamaki, North Island Habitat is seeking an experienced Accountant who enjoysworking with numbers, has a sharp eye for detail, and is passionate aboutturning financial data into meaningful insights. Reporting to the CFO, thisrole is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness offinancial reporting across the organisation. The Accountant will take ownership of the month-end closeprocess, support budgeting and forecasting activities, maintain strongfinancial controls, and provide valuable financial analysis to supportoperational and strategic decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity forsomeone who wants to play a key role in theorganisation's financialperformance while contributing to work that makes a genuine difference in thecommunity. You will also provide guidance and oversight to the AssistantAccountant and Accounts Administrator, helping ensure the smooth operation ofthe finance function. Some of your responsibilities will include: Managing balancesheet reconciliations and maintaining financial controls. Preparingbudgets, forecasts, and financial analysis to support decisions. Maintaining fixedassets, finance leases, and statutory compliance. Preparing auditworking papers and ensuring audit readiness. Supportingoperational finance activities, including AP reviews and payments. Our ideal candidate will have: Minimum 3-5 years accounting experience in a housing or similar industry Accounting diploma or technical qualification Strong technical ability and attention to detail Good analytical and problem-solving ability Good stakeholder management and relationship building skills About Habitat for Humanity Habitat for Humanity Northern and Southern Region is thelargest Habitat for Humanity Affiliate in New Zealand.
