About the Role The primary purpose of the role is to provide expert moving and handling advice, support, and guidance across the district, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality moving and handling practice. The role will support the implementation of organisational and regional moving and handling strategies, promote best practice, and contribute to the ongoing development of moving and handling capability, education, and compliance within services across the district. About you You are a registered Health Professional, or bring equivalent clinical practice and experience recognised by Health NZ within the area of moving and handling. A current annual practising certificate is held where applicable, alongside a strong commitment to safe, person-centred care and continuous improvement in healthcare practice. With practical experience applying moving and handling best practice in healthcare settings, you are confident supporting staff to work safely while maintaining dignity and quality care for patients. Your approach reflects an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action, ensuring practice is inclusive, respectful, and culturally responsive. Strong adult teaching and facilitation skills allow you to engage, educate, and support others effectively, building confidence and capability across teams through practical, hands‑on learning.
