Project Engineer - Civil & Water

Project Engineer Wellington | Civil & Water Infrastructure Adecco is partnering with a leading civil contractor to recruit an experienced Project Engineer to join their Wellington-based team. This is a key role supporting the successful delivery of water infrastructure and civil projects, offering a strong mix of site-based leadership and technical project coordination. About the Role As a Project Engineer, you'll work closely with the Project Manager to deliver water and civil construction projects from planning through to completion. This is a hands-on role split between site and office, where you'll be responsible for coordinating works, supporting crews, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard. Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day coordination of site activities to ensure safe, efficient delivery Maintain strong Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards Prepare and manage project documentation including programmes, reports, and cost tracking Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and materials procurement Monitor project progress, performance, and quality outcomes Identify risks and implement practical solutions on site Provide leadership and support to field teams and stakeholders What We're Looking For: Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or similar 5+ years' experience in civil construction, ideally within water infrastructure Proven experience delivering end-to-end projects in a contracting environment Strong understanding of NZ regulations and engineering standards Confident leading teams with a hands-on, practical approach Strong communication and problem-solving skills Full Class 1 driver's licence What's on Offer Competitive salary package Medical and life insurance benefits Enhanced KiwiSaver contributions Ongoing training and career progression opportunities Supportive, team-focused environment Ideal for Someone Who: If you're looking to take the next step in your engineering career and work on meaningful infrastructure projects.
