Full time, Fixed term, Start Date: 16/08/2026, End Date: 11/12/2026 (Teacher on medical leave) Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and culturally responsive NZ certificated teacher to join Roscommon School team. Our ideal candidate will have a deep passion for early years education and a strong understanding of school-readiness pathways for tamariki transitioning into primary school. Key requirements Cultural and language diversity: Experience working with tamariki and whānau from a wide range of cultural and language backgrounds. Inclusive practice and neurodiversity: Solid knowledge and practical experience using inclusive education practices. You will be skilled at adapting learning environments, routines, and behavioural strategies to effectively accommodate the needs of neurodiverse learners (e.g., Autism, ADHD, sensory needs) so every child experiences success. School readiness and transition: Ability to build strong foundational literacy, numeracy, and self-regulation skills through structured, supportive, and play-based learning experiences. Whānau engagement: A commitment to building warm, respectful partnerships with whānau, local community, and learning support networks.
