About the Role As the Pou Ako Mātauranga, you will be responsiblefor supporting the workforce development of our Pūkenga Atawhai while buildingthe cultural capability of all Specialist Mental Health Services kaimahi. Workingin partnership with others, you will foster a culture of ako (continuouslearning), manaakitanga (respect and care), and whanaungatanga (strongrelationships), enabling kaimahi to deliver culturally safe and equitablecare. The role reflects the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and contributesto a workplace where inclusion, empathy, partnership, and haumarutanga (safety)are valued and embedded in everyday practice. About the Team The Pou Ako Mātauranga is part of the SMHS training unit team, supporting the ongoing learningand development of SMHS kaimahi. The role reports to the NurseConsultant: Workforce Development with tautoko (support) from the Pou Whirinaki,ensuring cultural leadership and guidance are embedded across the role. About you As the Pou Ako Mātauranga you will need to: Have arobust and in-depth understanding of Te Ao Māori, Te Reo Māori, Te Tiriti oWaitangi and Tikanga Māori. Be a Registered Health Professional, with acurrent annual practicing certificate. Havea minimum of three years of clinical experience in a tertiary mentalhealth service. Haveexperience in delivering education to adults in either a clinical oreducation setting. Holda minimum of a post-graduate diploma in a relevant area.
