Fabricator

We have an exciting opportunity for a Fabricator to join our team in Christchurch. This is an immediate-start role, and we're keen to move quickly for the right person. You must have a minimum of 3 years' experience in the structural steel industry and understand structural steel drawings and have the ability to work independently, but also able to work as part of a team. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Minimum 3 years experience in the structural steel industry, specifically heavy fabrication An ability to interpret and understand structural steel drawings Fabricating/Welding and assembly as per shop drawings and relevant procedures Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do the job Assist in squaring up and welding various geometries of components Understand various weld symbols on drawings Fit up and working with welders where required Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts Good understanding of English - written, verbal and reading Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment Be able to take direction and constructive criticism from peers Display initiative and ability to work independently, but also able to work as part of a team Ability to weld (advantageous) Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
