Job Description
Presbyterian Support Upper South Island – Christchurch, South Island This role is to provide Parental Leave Cover from the 14/09/26 - 04/06/27 with close off date of 31st July2026 The purpose of this role is to work collaboratively within the allocated school cluster and local community to provide high quality, professional and goal oriented social work interventions and initiatives for children, young people and their families. This work will identify and work with a client's strengths, resources, resiliency, and problem-solving abilities in order to maximise social, educational and wellbeing outcomes. Key responsibilities Provide social work interventions and initiatives for children, young people and their families within the allocated school cluster Work collaboratively within the local community Identify and work with a client's strengths, resources, resiliency, and problem-solving abilities About you - At least 2 years of experience in social work with Social Work or similar qualifications Professional Registration with relevant professional body A working knowledge of relevant legislations including Oranga Tamariki Act 1989 and Domestic Violence Act Knowledge of relevant community networks and resources Demonstrated ability to respect and adhere to confidentiality and professional boundaries Intermediate computer and office equipment skills including the use of email, SharePoint, Microsoft 365 applications, and databases Excellent communication skills and a strong ability to develop relationships Openness to and enjoyment of differences in values, beliefs, and cultural practices including gender identity, sexual orientation, and differing levels of ability Willing and competent to work safely with a diverse range of cultures including Māori and Pasifika Full clean driver's licence and ability to pass a Police vet check An opportunity to make a difference, working with diverse cultures within Aotearoa Work with highly passionate, motivated, and dedicated people A safe, healthy, and supportive work environment A people focused culture where wellbeing is not just talked about Stimulating, challenging, and rewarding work Flexible working policy and environment Extra leave entitlements like birthday and whānau leave EAP and employee benefits programmes Medical Insurance Cover About us Presbyterian Support Upper South Island aims to create a better life for everyone.
