Hauora Hokianga is a recognised Māori Health provider supporting the wellbeing of Hokianga whānau through a range of health and social services. About the Role We are seeking a passionate and motivated Hutia Te Rito Kaiwhiriwhiri (Navigator) to work alongside hapū māmā, pēpi and their whānau during the first 1,000 days of a child's life. This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting difference by empowering whānau to achieve their aspirations and access the support they need to thrive. As a Kaiwhiriwhiri, you will build trusted relationships with whānau and provide practical support, advocacy and navigation services. Working from a strengths-based and kaupapa Māori approach, you will help whānau identify their goals, develop plans, access services and overcome barriers to wellbeing. You will maintain a caseload of whānau, ensuring they receive coordinated, culturally safe and holistic support throughout their journey. Key Responsibilities Supporting hapū māmā, pēpi and whānau through the first 1,000 days of a child's life. Building trusted relationships and supporting whānau to achieve their goals. Connecting whānau with services, resources and opportunities that strengthen wellbeing. Coordinating support and advocating for whānau when needed. Working alongside community partners to improve outcomes for whānau. Maintaining accurate records and contributing to service reporting. About You We’re looking for someone who enjoys working alongside whānau and is motivated by making a positive difference in their community. The successful candidate will have: Experience supporting whānau, individuals or communities in a health, social services, community or wellbeing setting. An understanding of te ao Māori, tikanga Māori and whānau-led approaches. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive and trusting relationships. Well-developed planning and organisational skills. The ability to work autonomously while managing a varied workload. Confidence with technology and maintaining accurate records. A current full New Zealand Driver Licence Experience working with hapū māmā, pēpi or young whānau would be an advantage.
