Clinical Intake/Clinician - Registered Therapist Youth Mental Health A clinical role delivering a range of therapeutic services to young people in Otago, including the Thrive Te Pae Ora service, which is designed to meet the needs of rangatahi/young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues. Part of this role is clinical intake and as part of the ADL-wide clinical intake team you will work collaboratively to facilitate all aspects of intake and support while clients are waiting to be allocated to a clinician. Provide therapeutic counselling for young people at risk, aged 12 - 24 years Maintain professional registration Utilisebest practice methods in all clinical practice, and have working knowledge of the following modalities: MI, CBT, ACT, Solution Focused Brief Therapy Providea service that reflects the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi Respect the diverse ethnic and cultural heritage of New Zealand and utilise culturally appropriate counselling practices Work with co-existing mental health and addiction issues as appropriate Work as an effective and collaborative member of a regional team for the wider organisation as a whole Able to incorporate technology as part of your therapeutic work, including the use of Heidi Work closely with the Intake Team, Service Leaders and Administration around all aspects of intake and support while clients are waiting for the allocation of a clinician Benefits and perks 5 weeks annual leave Cultural support & supervision 1:1 professional supervision Annual PD budget and PD leave Flexible working hours policy Full sick leave entitlement available at the start of employment Paid professional membership and registration High quality internal induction and ongoing training programme Diverse work with the right amount of challenge Prioritisation of clinical safety Investment in fit for purpose buildings and safe vehicles Modern technology, devices, and systems MacPac ProDeal Skills and experience Current full NZ professional registration (i.e. Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, Social Worker,Counsellor (DAPAANZ or NZAC), Nurse Therapist) 3 years experience working as a clinician in the Mental Health and/or Addictions field Knowledge of delivering brief interventions to a variety of individuals Knowledge of motivational interviewing, ACT/ CBT, solution-focused, Whanau & cultural therapies would be an advantage Your full driver's license About us We are adynamic not-for-profit organisation that provides therapeutic services to young people experiencing mental health and addiction issues.
