Job Description

We are looking for an Electrical Assembly Line Operator to join our AC Panel Distribution (PD2) team. Following a recent promotion within the team, an exciting opportunity has become available at our newly refurbished Rosedale facility on Auckland’s North Shore. In this role, you will assemble customised, high-value AC electrical panels, working with complex, low-volume products that require strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, and a quality-focused mindset. Overview In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical assembly of AC panel distribution boards used in marine applications. Working from engineering drawings and wiring schematics, you will assemble, wire, and test customised, high-value electrical panels that form a critical part of our customers' systems. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, a strong commitment to quality and safety, and the ability to perform repetitive assembly tasks accurately and efficiently. You will be comfortable working on your feet for extended periods and lifting components and materials of up to 20kg when required. You Will Bring 1-2 years' experience in an electrical, mechanical, or manufacturing assembly environment. A trade qualification, diploma, or relevant technical certification is preferred. Practical experience wiring and assembling electrical panel boards or similar equipment. Experience mounting and installing components such as DIN rails, circuit breakers, busbars, relays, contactors, and terminal blocks. Confidence using hand and assembly tools, including screwdrivers, torque wrenches, crimpers, cable strippers, and wire cutters. Experience using basic electrical test equipment, such as multimeters, for continuity and verification checks. The ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings. Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused approach to work. Good safety awareness and the ability to follow established procedures. The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with engineers and production team members. A reliable, positive attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Assemble and wire AC panel distribution boards in accordance with engineering drawings, wiring schematics, and work instructions. Install, mount, and connect electrical components, including circuit breakers, terminal blocks, relays, busbars, and associated hardware. Route, terminate, and label wiring to meet quality and design standards. Conduct basic electrical and quality checks to ensure products meet specifications before release. Identify and troubleshoot straightforward assembly or wiring issues and elevate more complex problems as required. Safely operate hand tools and basic testing equipment while maintaining a clean and organised work area. Work closely with engineers and production team members to resolve issues and meet production schedules. Contribute ideas to improve assembly processes, product quality, safety, and overall production efficiency. Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused approach to work.
