Centre Manager – Community Montessori ECE Centre Full time, Permanent Mana Montessori is a well-established, community-based early childhood centre in Whitby, Porirua. Guided by the Montessori philosophy, we provide a nurturing environment where tamariki are supported to become confident, independent learners. Due to our current centre manager relocating, we are seeking an experienced or aspiring leader to join our team. Working alongside our dedicated teaching team and Governance Committee, you will lead the day-to-day operation of the centre, ensuring high-quality education, strong relationships with whānau, and compliance with Ministry of Education requirements. As centre manager, you will: Lead and support a positive, collaborative teaching team. Ensure our Montessori philosophy and curriculum are delivered to a high standard. Oversee staffing, enrolments, budgeting, administration, compliance, and centre operations. Build strong partnerships with tamariki, whānau, the community, and key stakeholders. Maintain high standards of health, safety, and regulatory compliance. Lead staff recruitment, coaching, and mentoring. Work closely with the Governance Committee to support the centre's strategic direction and ongoing success. This is primarily a leadership and management role. Classroom involvement is limited to lunch and occasional relief cover when required. You will have: An ECE qualification and current New Zealand teacher certification. Leadership experience in an early childhood setting. Knowledge of Te Whāriki, ECE regulations, and the Montessori philosophy (training can be provided). Strong leadership, communication, organisational, and relationship-building skills. Experience managing operations and finances. The legal right to work in New Zealand.
