Retail Sales & Customer Service – Steel Shop (Kaitaia) STIHL SHOP Kaitaia is your local one-stop shop for outdoor power equipment, based at 134 North Road, Kaitaia. We stock quality brands like STIHL, Walker Mowers, Hansa, Cub Cadet, Masport, Honda, Ziegler & Brown and more — everything from chainsaws and mowers to generators, waterblasters and barbeques. We also carry a big range of accessories, safety gear and spare parts, and our skilled technicians service and repair gear to get our customers back on the job. Whether someone's a professional contractor or a weekend gardener, we're here to give them the expert advice and great service they need to get the job done. The role We're after a friendly, switched-on person to be the face of our shop. You'll be front of house — meeting customers as they come in, helping them find the right gear, talking them through our products, and making sure they leave happy. This is a hands-on sales and customer service role where good chat and good service matter most. Preferred someone local. What you'll be doing Greeting customers and giving them a hand at the front counter Talking customers through our products — chainsaws, mowers, BBQs, generators and more — and helping them pick what's right for the job Giving good, honest advice so customers get the right gear the first time Answering questions over the counter, on the phone and by email Writing up quotes, taking orders and ringing up sales Helping customers with accessories, safety gear and spare parts Working in with our technicians to sort servicing and repairs Keeping the shop tidy, stocked and looking good What we're looking for A friendly, easy-going person who enjoys talking with people Good, clear communication and a helpful attitude Reliable and on time — someone we can count on Happy to learn about our gear and brands (we'll teach you what you need to know) Able to do basic numbers for quotes and sales Comfortable being on your feet and doing a bit of lifting Handy to have (but not a must) Retail, sales or customer service experience Some knowledge of outdoor power equipment, mowers, chainsaws, trade or farming gear Computer basics for orders and emails Physically fit as role requires being on feet and lifting equipment What we offer A steady job with a friendly local team Full training — no need to know the gear before you start The chance to work with top brands like STIHL, Honda and more Competitive pay, talked through at interviewGreat hours — Rostered Monday to Saturday - Upto 40 hours a week. #J-18808-Ljbffr
