The Role In this role, you will work closely with our technical and innovation teams to implement, monitor, and manage security measures across diverse client networks. You will be at the frontline of detecting anomalies, managing vulnerabilities, and keeping systems resilient. You will also support clients with their long-term security roadmaps, creating sustainable improvements over time. Key Responsibilities: Monitor & Detect: Watch over client networks and systems using modern intrusion detection and behavioural analytics tools, triaging alerts and escalating where needed. Incident Response: Investigate security incidents, run vulnerability assessments, and produce clear impact reports with practical remediation steps. Governance & Compliance: Support clients with risk assessments, policy development, and compliance work against frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST CSF, HISF, SOC2 and the NZISM. Risk Management: Maintain risk registers, track remediation actions, and help translate technical findings into business risk that stakeholders can act on. Tool Management: Implement and maintain core security tooling, including firewalls, endpoint protection, and patch management systems. Client Advisory: Give clients clear, pragmatic guidance to lift their overall security posture, both technical and organisational. Continuous Improvement: Look for ways to streamline internal workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and strengthen our own security practices. Stay Current: Keep across emerging threats, evolving compliance requirements, and new security technologies. About You We are looking for someone who doesn't just see tech as a job, but has anatural love for the industry. You should be naturally proactive, curious, and excited by the intersection of security and modern tech improvements. Your Skills & Experience: Tech Background: A solid foundation in the IT industry (e.g., helpdesk support or sysadmin experience) with at least 3 years in a cybersecurity or technical support environment. Certifications: At least two baseline cybersecurity certifications (Security+ or equivalent/above). Core Knowledge: A strong understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protection. Continuous Improvement: A motivated, positive approach to learning and development. Interpersonal Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. You can translate complex technical risks into clear, friendly guidance for clients and team members alike. Drive: A proactive attitude toward your workflows and a sharp problem-solving mind. Preferred but not essential: Experience with cloud security (specifically Microsoft Azure or AWS). Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC2, ISO 27001, HISO).
