Job Description
Geneva Staffing is seeking an experienced and confident Registered Nurse to join our casual nursing team supporting the Auckland Regional Women's Corrections Facility in Wiri . This is a unique opportunity to work within a nurse‑led health centre environment, providing primary healthcare services to women in custody. While employed on a casual basis, the successful nurse can expect regular rostered shifts for an assignment anticipated to run for up to six months, with the potential for work extending into the new year. Rosters are typically confirmed up to three weeks in advance, providing greater certainty and consistency than many traditional casual nursing roles. About the Role You will be based within the facility's health centre, with a primary focus on: Medication administration Responding to medical emergencies Monitoring and recording vital signs Blood glucose monitoring Maintaining accurate clinical documentation Providing safe, professional nursing care within a secure healthcare setting Working collaboratively with the wider healthcare team Hours & Assignment Details Casual employment through Geneva Staffing Approximately 16-20 hours per week , with the potential for additional hours Shifts are typically 4-5 hours , with occasional 8-hour shifts Rosters generally available up to three weeks in advance Initial assignment anticipated to continue for up to six months Potential for ongoing work beyond the initial assignment period Immediate start available for the right candidate What We Offer Hourly rate of up to $53.00 per hour , depending on qualifications and experience Additional applicable allowances and penal rates 8% holiday pay paid on top of your hourly rate Comprehensive paid orientation programme ( 32-40 hours paid training before commencement ) Consistent rostered work in a unique healthcare environment Opportunity to develop experience within correctional healthcare Ongoing support from Geneva Healthcare's dedicated clinical and recruitment team What We're Looking For Current New Zealand Registered Nurse Annual Practising Certificate (APC) Current CPR certification Strong medication management skills Excellent clinical assessment and decision‑making abilities Ability to work confidently and independently Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to successfully complete police vetting and security clearance requirements Experience in any of the following areas would be highly advantageous: Primary Healthcare Emergency Nursing Acute Care Community Nursing Corrections or Forensic Healthcare Recruitment Process Complete a police vetting and security clearance process Meet with the Health Centre Manager prior to commencement Attend a comprehensive paid orientation programme before starting clinical duties #J-18808-Ljbffr
